Detailed Tour Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrive Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong (100km 03:00hrs journey Approx.)
Welcome to the Best of Seven Sisters tour, on arrival in Guwahati Airport/ Railway station our representative will meet you and transfer to hotel in Shillong. The road leads to Shillong form Guwahati is a picturesque pass through the lush green forest, enroot we visit beautiful Umiam Lake it is a reservoir in the hills on Umiam river. Later check-in to the hotel in Shillong, Have a Lunch and relax for a while and Rest of the evening is free for shopping on your own.

Day 02: Shillong Sightseeing
Shillong “the abode of clouds” the capital city of beautiful state Meghalaya is famous for its clean steep streets, beautiful parks, lakes, gushing waterfalls. Today morning after having a delicious breakfast we proceed for sightseeing. We cover Ward’s Lake is one of the most popular attraction in Shillong, this artificial water body is encircled by an extensive lush garden and located in the middle of city. Lady Hydari Park a Japanese style garden is named after the erstwhile first lady (Wife of Governor of Assam in British rule) she was a great nature lover. Don Bosco Museum (center for indigenous cultures) a seven storied building exhibits the cultures and traditions of Northeastern tribes, there are 16 galleries in the museum and each deal with a different aspect. Elephant falls a two- tier waterfall the name originated in the British era when the Englishmen spotted a giant rock that looked like an elephant near the fall,this rock was destroyed in the 1987 due to an earthquake. Shillong viewpoint, Laitkor peakstands massively 1962mt. above the sea level which offers a breathtaking bird’s eye view of the city, it offers a clear view of Himalayan mountain ranges and plains of Bangladesh on a clear day.

Day 03: Shillong – Mawlynnong – Dawki (Suspension bridge)
Today we head towards Bangladesh border, after having a breakfast at the hotel proceed to the Mawlynnong a small village in East Khasi hills is known for its cleanliness and living root bridges, the travel magazine Discover India declared the village as the cleanest in Asia year 2003 and cleanest in India in 2005. Next we proceed to Dawki, about 20km south of the Mawlynnong village, it is located on the India- Bangladesh border and is famous for suspension bridge on Umngot river, it was constructed in 1932 by the British. The water in this river is crystal clear that underneath is visible. Later we proceed to Cherrapunji.

Day 04: Mawlynnong- Cherrapunji Sightseeing
The small town located in East Khasi Hills which is just 55km away from Shillong, Cherrapunji or Sohra (local name) most of us would have known from our schooldays that the Wettest place on Planet Earth, though the distinction is now taken over by ‘Mawsynram’ it is also in Meghalaya, Cherrapunji is still second wettest place, in fact back in 1861 Cherrapunji recorded 9,300mm rainfall in single month and an ever happen 26,461mm rainfall between Aug. 1860 to Aug. 1861.
The name Cherrapunji means “The Land of Oranges”, it is home to beautiful waterfalls, caves, spectacular viewpoints, living root bridges (Cherrapunji has only double decker root bridge in Asia) and other stunning natural attractions.
Today we visit, Living Root Bridges specially found in North eastern region, forms with the rubber trees, it takes at least 15 years to form a root bridge and it lasts up to 500 years. Length of the bridges is up to 250 ft. can hold 50 persons at a time. Umshiang double decker root bridge is only double decker root bridge in Asia is major attraction along with this Ummunoi root bridge the oldest in the region, Umkar root bridge and Mawsaw root bridges among others. Nohkalikai waterfalls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India, its height is 1,115ft. Seven sister waterfalls (Nohsngithiang falls) is a seven segmented waterfall near Mawsamai village, its height is 1,033ft. Mawsamai Caves are the limestone caves have the distinction of being the only caves in Meghalaya. Though the caves are very long only a distance of 150mt. is open for tourists, the stalactites and stalagmite caves have innumerable forms, shapes and sizes inside leaving one to imagine as many life forms as possible. Evening is free for your own activities.

Day 06: Cherrapunji – Kaziranga National Park (280km 07:00hrs journey Approx.)
Today morning after having breakfast we leave to the world famous and well conserved UNESCO world heritage site “Kaziranga National Park”. During your journey there will be a few stops for viewing natural spots and having lunch. Check- in hotel in the afternoon and relax for a while, evening is leisure.

Day 07: Kaziranga National Park
One of India’s best-known tourism mascots, native place of great one horned Rhinoceros, holds two thirds of world Rhino population with 2,430 in 2018, it was just less than 200 in 1904. Thanks to Mary Curzon the wife of the viceroy of India, when she visited park in 1904, she not even sees a single Rhino, later she persuaded her husband to take urgent measures to protect the area. Consequently, it became the World Heritage site in 1985 with an area of 1,07,500 acers.
The park not only houses Rhinos it also home to larger population of Asiatic Elephants, tigers, wild water buffalos and another species. Also, great place for bird watching.
We can enjoy a comprehensive list of activities in the park like Elephant safari is certainly an exciting way to explore the wildlife in Kaziranga. Adventurous and thrilling, elephant safaris offer an opportunity to view wild animals from close proximity, starts early in the morning. Jeep safari other way to explore the vast landscape and view exotic animals is more common jeep safari. The open jeep safari deep inside the thick forest is all that you need to get the adrenaline pumping. Bird watching with river Brahmaputra flowing by, it offers the perfect place for sighting different species of birds, the eastern range of the park is bird watcher’s paradise as it is endowed with number of lagoons. Kaziranga national Orchid park& Cultural show spanning over an area of 6 acers landscape, the park is one of the largest of its kind, about 500 species of orchids found here out of the 1,314 species found in the entire country. Visit Tribal Villages a tour of this villages will give the tourists an insight into the culture, lifestyle and practices of tribal people.

Day 08: Kaziranga National Park- Guwahati (170km 03:30hrs journey Approx.)
Today we leave for Guwahati after having a breakfast, on arrival check- in hotel, in the afternoon we visit Kamakhya mandir while sati’s disintegrated body parts rained toes in Kolkata, her yoni fell on Kamakhya hill, this makes Kamakhya mandir important for Shakti. Assam state museum housed in an imposing colonial building, this museum contains a large sculpture collection and tribal culture displays. Umananda (the smallest river island in the world) and Old Guwahati on banks of river Brahmaputra.

Day 09: Guwahati – Homeward bound
Today a bid farewell to theBest of Seven sisters tour. After having the breakfast, you will be transferred to the Airport/ Railway station for onward journey. Return to your home with the lifetime memories.
